I've been interviewed by FBI agents three times in my life concerning three separate events that occurred in three different states over a span of 40 years.

I told the truth each time.

In each case, it was two agents. After each interview they thanked me for the information I was able to give them, and I never heard from them a second time on the same incident.

They didn't bankrupt me. They didn't threaten my son. I didn't have to sell my house.

One thing I noticed each time was that early in each interview, they used subtle off-hand remarks about things way back in my history to reveal that they knew much more about me than I would have ever imagined.

I can see how if you had something to hide it would be a very uncomfortable process.
