Communists were generally Socialists and/or Marxists. I consider people like Howard Dean certainly Socialist/Liberals. Dean appears to speak for the Democrat Party. If it looks like a pig, squeals like a pig, by golly, it probably is a pig. Religious conservatives speak for the Republican party. Forty-five % of Americans (most all the religious conservatives) think biological evolution is false and that God created humans not to long ago. They are thus at odds with a large swath of modern science. Therefore Republicans are the anti-science party. This should I guess make sense to you.
