Emile, I don't understand what you mean here. How do you know that God's Holy Spirit is living within you? What if, instead, you have simply gone mad or been brainwashed or hypnotized or been afflicted with group-think? How do you really tell?

And most particularly, how do you know that you have been saved? Do you mean by this that you FEEL differently now, as opposed to before your were saved, or that you will live eternally? Is there any proof whatsoever that a Christian has any different outcome from the death process than a pagan or an athiest or a Buddhist or whoever?

Do you think that everything you describe about being a Christian could possibly come totally from within the self, meeting a need to overcome some kind of emptiness or despair? I am not implying here that this improved state of being is somehow negative, incidentally, if its origin is not external.
