Miz Penni, I spent a number of Summers with my grandmother in a town of 300 in Central Illinois. A farm based village. I could run with the big dogs or rabbits and everyone knew where I was and what I was doing. Eight year old kid fishing on the bridge over Sugar Creek two miles out of town, I was still in grandma's living room. Go to get the mail and forget the combination, ask anyone and they would say G 7. Didn't need to be too modest as everyone saw your pee pee when you went swimming in Lang's pond. Thirsty, every house had some iced tea. Stranger in town, not after an hour. Every child should spend some time in that village.
