Quite the contrary for many people and their applications. As soon as Intel or AMD comes up with a chip that can run those applications faster, lots of people will want that chip.

It's just that the current P4 doesn't run many applications faster, it run most of them slower, and it costs more than almost anything else out there.

Maybe they can fit the missing cache and pipeline back in when P4 moves to .13, and then it might be that faster chip that we're all looking for. But by then, there will be other faster chips, too.
