AOL debuts service via Sprint PCS Web-ready phones

DULLES, Va., June 15 (Reuters) - Internet media and services giant America Online Inc. <AOL.N> said Thursday it would debut a new service which will give users mobile Internet access through Sprint PCS Group's <PCS.N> Internet-ready phones.

The new AOL Mobile services will debut Friday as "AOL" on the opening screen of the Sprint PCS Wireless Web. It will allow access to AOL features such as e-mail, news, weather and stock quotes, as well as content from some of AOL's other brands, including local city guide Digital City and MovieFone.

There will be is no extra service charge to access AOL while on the Sprint PCS Wireless Web and users can choose Sprint PCS Wireless Web as their free option as part of any of the phone company's "Free & Clear" plans to use their minutes for voice or data.
