A person has to be impressed by Bezos' knack of spinning.

Absolutely, and that should come as no surprise. He used to work as an analyst of some sort. In fact, I pointed out here in early 1998 that Bezos was going to write the book on stock proping and manipulation.

Therefore, I have placed a buy stop order at $ 15.10 good for the day to cover all my short position.

In the past I have advised against shorting Amazon, but this time around I think it is a safe bet to short.

Even under the most optimistic predictions (pro-forma operating profits, yadda, yadda) they will be a low margin retailer with multiples similar to those of, say, Barnes and Noble which gives $5 bucks a share all of this using optimistic, management provided figures and projections.
