Here's Readware. First a word from me.... Like I said a few days ago -- LOR should settle in at a price around 22 or so. I would think that a consolidation is in order, especially after the 30% runnup. When the satmex auction winner is announced, and the GSTRF birds begin launching, we will see our next big move upward, IMO. On any intra-day dips, I'm buying aggressively.

Hell, all I know is that LOR is going to go up, who am I kidding trying to figure out its near-term moves? It's proven very difficult in the past, as many long-time posters remember. However, the long term looks up.

Loral has an equity ownership in CDRD (CD Radio). CDRD has indicated a subscription plan for users of vehicular based satellite radio of $7/month. It will receive income outside, then, the advertiser payments for its use. I believe CDRD will be operational some time in 1999.

Depending on the amount of autos in which CDRD will be used, CDRD can be a fast growing satellite company as far as revenue growth is concerned. I have seen different numbers cited for automobile installment, but no one here has tested their validity. The numbers range from 5 million to 10 million and up. I cannot vouch for the validity of any of these numbers myself, however. I mention this about CDRD here since Loral owns some 15% of the company,
as well as is building its three GEOs for US coverage.

I note the stock was up $2 today, and has a yearly low of $3. I have no opinion on the company, except to note that it is partly owned, as I noted above, by Loral.

SatMex has announced the final bidders. As I had suggested would be the case some some four weeks ago, no Mexico TV network bid with PanAmSat. Peoles is the only co-bidder with PanAmSat. With Loral is Telefonica Autrey and Alcatel Espace. GE Americom has a Mexico partner also. Financials were not made public, obviously.

The auction results will be announced 31 October, according to SatMex Minister Jorge Silberstein.

You raise a good point about CDRD-- I was just noting it as an asset of LOR. There is apparently enthusiasm for digital audio radio services (DARS). It seems that there is an expectation that 4-5 million subscribers is well within expectation, however. I do not know the market for CD Radio, Loral has already realized $9/share on its investment.
