You are trying to make it seem that women should and can have a different existence than they have had for most of human recorded history simply because they want to

On the contrary, I believe women should have a CHOICE in the matter, something they didn't have in the past. And then, yes, why shouldn't they pursue something else if the traditional role doesn't appeal to them? WHy was wanting something that men have had such easy access to a bad thing?

Because things have always been a certain way and thus should continue the same strikes me as an odd approach to life. There was nothing "blithe" about the pursuit of women's rights. In fact, that kind of derogatory dismissiveness is one of the weapons used against women as they demanded a voice.

You are correct. The mold is broken. For this reason, there has to be an acknowledgment on both sides that a new framework needs to evolve and that the old is impaired and unlikely to be fully functional again, unless individual couples choose to use it. The new framework should be more cooperative and collaborative.

And now, I hate to shock you further, but I have to return to WORK. We have our first concert tonight. 130 kids on stage not knowing what they are doing. Hm. Not much progress for me. I'm still telling kids to tuck their shirts in and mind their manners.
