Didn't know that Kay was frustrated, tired, etc. I read the NYT story today, however, in which he criticizes the CIA for not determining that Iraq's WMD program was in chaos. The Frontline interview, however, is notable for his endorsing the notion that the aluminum tubes Iraq sought were usable for centrifuges.

Kay seems to have detailed knowledge that does not easily fit into any pigeonholes. A lot of "this but on the other hand that" which is perfectly appropriate for one who has detailed knowledge, though I fail to see how his commentary on the CIA's failure is appropriate.

The best comment on the issue far by a public figure seems to be Clinton's.
