Hi Amy Ref OT -< Combined stock market and real estate financial crunch > I can empathize with the pain of your friends. I also lived thru a similar stock market meltdown while closing on my first house. Simultaneously the economy plunged into a deep recession and there were massive layoffs all around me. Those were scary days indeed ! That taught me a lesson that the stock valuation models developed by the high paid financial analysts are worthless, and to stay away from super high P/E stocks. Hopefully everyone has learnt how to separate hype from reality. However I am not sure if the market has bottomed, and how much more pain lies ahead. Regards
