DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: This position is for a technical individual contributor within the ASTA partnership at IBMs facilities in East Fishkill, NY. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop high-performance logic transistors for 90nm, 65nm and/or 45nm technology, which may involve exploration of novel device architectures and/or substrate materials.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
All candidates for these positions will have a strong fundamental understanding of solid state device physics, sub micron FET architectures and the implications of device characteristics and performance on technology and microprocessor product behavior. Candidates must have strong capabilities in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments and will coordinate with the ASTA joint venture integration and processmodule groups. The selected candidate will also work closely with AMDs design groups to define transistor requirements and parametric goals for AMDs microprocessor performance roadmap and product offerings.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a minimum of five years of semiconductor engineering experience, preferably related to device engineering, technology development or integration. An advanced industry-related engineering or science degree is preferred and may reduce the level of experience required.

I guess it's official then. AMD and IBM are working closely together on 90nm as well as 65nm and beyond.
