As for the Rambus rebate.. I dont know why it would blow you away.. Intel knows RDRAM is still more expensive then SDRAM and also faces a skeptical user community who doesnt think much of its claims of performance vs conventional SDRAM, and a large portion of the community wouldnt bother with RDRAM anyhow due to their oposition in principle to Rambus and its perceived monopoly tactics of trying to force RDRAM down everyone's throat. Intel will do everything in its power to make sure RDRAM isnt what causes P-4 to not take off. This move doesnt surprise me at all that they're offering an incentive program.. I dont know whether 70$ is enough though to ease the pain.
