... i had planned to watch for this sort of thing towards the end of the month .... a friend in el DF has been shorting the USD over the last few months, off and on, against the peso mostly but at times the euro ... when the USD does break significant support he figures it has lots of room to move, especially when the euro is completely phased in and all the underground cash is changed over, no matter whether it goes to USD or euro, he says the currently negative effect of it being changed will be gone either way
ido.v - yeah, not much luck this time around eh ... i screwed up, should have played the odds of slow assays meaning bad assays ... but the thing had already tanked big a week ago anyway, so on the question of 'what do we do now', it hardly mattered ... but ouch - from being solidly in the black to being a dime underwater and resigned to the possibility of waiting five months ... and feeling stupid on top, lol ... could still get lucky on further holes this year though, and in any case there will be a more extensive programme next year, as the russians are 'delaying the paperwork' again for Pd from Norilsk
Not many of the juniors were bid up much on the PoG move ... at least not the ones on my front screen ... minor upticks, no more .... well it's only five bucks, early yet and very likely another false start ... each day is another day closer to a recovery that sticks, though
First real hot day we've had here for ten days ... went through four or five days of rain/drizzle, i had twenty-litre pails in the garden that collected just under two inches [measured] ... unusual in August ... i love the days after, you can see things like squash growing, if you line the tips up with a stump and watch them for your whole three-beer break ..... ninth already, sixteen pre-september trading days left only ... i've got mixed feelings about that ... well cheers all

Douglas Casey, writing in the July 23, 2001, edition of his International
Speculator, says Anatolia Minerals is a buy at 40 cents. Mr. Casey's
recommendation follows a three-week trip to Turkey, where the company has
operations. He is favourably inclined to Anatolia, which as a multimillion-ounce
gold property being drilled in the Eurasian country, and it has a low market cap.
The letter writer says that while he did not have an opportunity to visit the
company's properties, he plans to do so this fall and will write more extensively
after doing more research. Meanwhile, he says, "I don't think you can get hurt
buying (Anatolia) at this stage of the cycle, if you put in a bid, and wait for tired
sellers to come to you. That's what I'm doing."
