Personally, I think it would be quite cool -- and extremely tempting -- to receive junk mail CDs that contained not junk, not stuff I could get for free anyway (like AOL software), but current, hot, top-of-the-line hot software. How could you have a copy of a new version of Microsoft Office, or Riven, or Oil Change, sitting right in front of you and NOT use it, especially if you could do so on a trial basis for a few pennies a minute, or whatever. I hope software companies are smart enough to figure this out. A lot of what keeps me from buying products I'd really like to have is that up-front price. I know that I'd get hooked on some of them if I could do it on a rent to own basis. And even if I didn't buy but only used it a little, they'd still be making money on the product that they wouldn't have been otherwise.

Keeping the faith.
