Wanna play a game?

"Although foreign producers such as Samsung of South Korea and Sony of Japan have poured into China, especially in 1995, domestic producers took around 70 per cent of the market last year. "

Hans (Needham) says China is 90% of the VCD market.
It's smaller than that, maybe 70% - 80% worldwide. But let's say 80% just for fun.

In China domestic producers took around 70 per cent of the market last year.

70% of 80% = 56% (John check my math here in case it lies).

So even if ESS has 100% of all the domestic Chinese companies (which we know is not the case) they would only have 56% of the VCD market worldwide?

I think ESS has less than 50% of the Domestic Chinese market, but let's say they have 50%.

Soooo.... if 50% of 80% is 40% of the worldwide market, who has the other 60%

Whew! How did I do?
