How did Cringely suddenly become aware of this previously unheard-from "Eolas"? Could it be that Microsoft has been whispering into his ear? They're playing the same old game of burying gullible, scoop-hungry technology columnists and broadcast hacks with half-truths and mis-truths, knowing that this crap will be passed on to investors.

Of course, "Eolas" could prove to be the secret weapon that knocks Netscape and Sun out of the water, preserve Microsoft's monopoly over the entire technology industry and eventually the entire world economy, and I will be wrong.
