Not a bad idea, but also not one I'll act on. Other than my 90 year old mother, I have NO relatives living within 500 miles of me. My friends all have families and will spend the holidays with them. My church does huge Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, which I always get involved with and will this year. As far as my mom is concerned, we'll eat those dinners at her assisted living dining room. She's not mobile enough to drag over here and those meals are quite nice right there. I'm glad your dad gets involved with your family for the holidays. For me, I have no problem living alone. Church is my family and where I socialize.
