This is exactly what I thought when I saw the heading of Schumer's op-ed.

What Senator Schumer says he needs to know. . .

and what he really needs to know for the upcoming confirmation struggle are two different things. Here is what Schumer says he needs to know (see if you can find what the title of his piece promises to disclose mixed in among his preposterous recommendations and sanctimonious utterances).

What the cell-phone toting Senator really needs to know (other than what Nan Aron and Ralph Neas tell him) is this -- because his bad faith is a given, he is largely irrelevant to the confirmation process.
