I think we were being asked if there is any data on the number of HUMINT persons broken by category if available (eg spy, handler, mole etc). If this were tracked historically it would answer lots of questions.

I would be HIGHLY AMAZED were there any such records available to the public..

After all, we still don't know who "Deep Throat" was from Watergate fame.

Revealing HUMINT sources would far worse that what currently is underway with regard to the "outing" of Wilson's NOC wife, Ms. Plame.

After all, we're talking about the lives of case officers and agents here... not the revealing of technical sources that, while inconvenient, would be unlikely to compromise an agent.
