I agree with you on the personal charity, DMA. If the Fed wants to help, a $500 tax credit to be applied to the tax-exempt charity of my choice would encourage giving. And President Bush should be careful about repealing the estate tax, or he may sharply curtail charitable bequests.

If the Fed runs the WHOFBACI office, then the Federal Government will be in the business of licensing the faith-based charities it approves of (who makes the official list, I wonder?). And regulating them. Dumb idea.
