Ted,

I do not understand when you say in 30 years the #s of those who speak English will increase to 70%. I thought most of the English speaking Canadians have moved to Ontario. Isn't MTL bilingual now?

Well the stats says that over 50% of the people don't speak french home. When I take the metro or go by the city, I hear sometimes more english than french. That is annoying, not that I dislike English, just that the tendency is that French is being flooded especially in mtl. Here, in Quebec city, the situation is far from that... about 10% English.

I said in another post that I do not like the attitude of some of the Québecois. They seem to demand to much from the national gov't. Do you agree or disagree? Is it possible that there is more to the story that what I have seen?
You talk about survival....you mean the French culture is in jeopardy.....and not the lives of the French speaking Canadians?

Mmmm... I understand your point. What they are trying to do is having the most control they can on the use of the budget, on health, on education... trying to do a country inside another country. The way we think and wanna act is just different. The economy is not as good as in Ontario but still pretty strong... (he he, we had Nasdaq before Ontario ;-p) <ggg>
