I strongly agree with your general principle. Strong enough that I recommended your post despite a technical disagreement. "No deductions for business" doesn't make sense. We tax business on profit, not revenue. No deductions mean they can't deduct legitimate business expenses, and so pretty much pay taxes based off their revenue. At today's corporate rates that would bankrupt a huge number of companies (and than more would go bankrupt due to the deep recession that would cause). Even tiny rates on the top line, rather than modest rates on the bottom line is IMO a questionable idea.

How about "Stop the tinkering, meddling and favoritism and institute a fair, flat tax with no deductions for individuals and no special or targeted deductions for business."
