Not your "opinion", not your "compassionate physical thinking", use the Word..
You know, you guys really DO remind me of Early Christians. Persecuting the Jews (oh YES they did) and engaging in endless absurd battles over heresy. Wanna talk about the Nestorians (a few may even still be around, though I should think only in the Orient)? The REAL Aryans? The Albigensians? The Manichiaens? And, going back again to the beginning, the Gnostics, who were really extremely interesting.
I say absurd, but of course this stuff isn't. The insistence on rooting out all heresy had its basis in the perceived need to make Christianity THE religion. Hegemonistic, no? This ain't the Word Revealed, it's the Word Imposed, and not by God. |
