This is so true, and it takes a *long* time.

There was an interview with Zacarias Moussaoui's brother today on France 2 8 o'clock news. He was very articulate and lucid about the affair, and showed no signs of trying to excuse his brother's actions, blame America or France..... it was rather like an American's reaction discovering that his brother was the Unabomber. What was significant was the more than 10 year time span over which his brother fell in deeper and deeper to with the extremists, and how it started with some seemingly insignificant indoctrination. And how it is simply impossible to have any dialogue with these people. He really tried over the course of time to bring his brother to reason, it was impossible.

And this is in France, so one can imagine what it's like in the Palestinian territories. Really scary.
