Alex, Great post! I have no problem with the use of animals in researching and producing medical devices and means for the betterment of society--both animals and humans. After all, animal eperimentation can and does further veterinary knowledge and treatment. That said, however, we both know that animals used in industries, particularly the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, often are treated inhmanely--and unnecessarily so. I believe this is what Christine is questioning. I have no connection with PETA and, in fact, disagree with that organization more than not. Holly D.
