Funny that you should post this; I had the exact same experience Saturday night but not quite with that many people; I sensed the same conclusion, but broke the stalemate between those sitting and waiting by proposing to these people a definative strategy to take. That strategy is to focus on rotating into beaten down value, and there is plenty of it, but that does not mean to rationalize the last business cycle to the next one. Government spending will be very strong for obvious reasons hence rotation of telecom money to defense is almost mandatory for survival. The Next business cycle is unfolding, and people are still hoping that the last business cycle will re emerge. There are definative ways to play this market, standing still and hoping for redemption isnt one of them.

Huge opportunity is staring everyone in the face. TRW has a market cap to sales value of .43 that is ludicrous. NOC is .88 that is ludicrous.CSCO on the other hand is $6.35, now that is where the problem lies, it's the misallocation of capital nothing more or less, against the forward business cycle. Small cap defense especially where fundamentals point to forward earnings are hugely undervalued. Take a look there is gold in them hills.
