A. Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll.
Knoll crashed the funeral last Tuesday of Staff Sergeant Joseph Goodrich, 32, a Marine reservist who was killed in Iraq. She plopped herself down next to Goodrich's aunt, handed out her business card, informed the grieving woman during the communion service that she often attends "functions" like these, and confided that: "I want you to know that our (state) government is against this war."

Well, Staff Sgt. Goodrich wasn't against the war, and neither are the loved ones he left behind. Goodrich, who had been a police officer as well as a Marine reservist, was a truly remarkable young man. I covered his funeral.

May she draw much, much more. It can be said of her what the family of Air Force Major Gregory Stone said of Michael Moore after Moore included (without, of course, seeking the family's permission) used footage of Stone's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery in his film. Fahrenheit 9/11:
Moore, Maj. Stone's mother said, "is a maggot that eats off the dead."
