For those who haven't read the January issue of Red Herring ...

"...the latest media buzzword: television commerce, or t-commerce. Merge the immediacy of the Internet with the ease of use of television and this, supposedly, is what you get."

The guy who coined the phrase, t-commerce, is Lawrence Marcus, author of a Deutsche Bank report on the subject. His numbers are:

"...interactive media and t-commerce will be worth $300 billion over the next five years. Five years from now, t-commerce revenue is going to [be] greater than e-commerce revenue."

"...if the current uptake of set-top box, enhanced TV, and electronic program guides continnues, ... interactive advertising will be worth $201 billion" in 2002.

If you need to ask what company Stew and I think might benefit from that, don't ask. :)
