If Sun opens sharply higher this morning, I think traders (of which I am not one) would do well to sell into the strength.

Why? Because

- The Oracle news is already stale. It came out on Friday. So excitement will be tempered even as trading begins.

- The deal was signed some time ago, so it's had plenty of time to leak. Therefore, news of the deal may already have been discounted (i.e. factored into the stock's price).

- Sun had a huge runup on Friday, possibly due to people buying on inside information. Further evidence of discounting.

- Even if the Oracle initiative is successful, it will take some time to bear fruit. In the meantime, the picture will develop and there will likely be better buying opportunities along the way.

- Overnight orders are suspect, amateurish. Pros will look to trade against them.

Well, there you have it. I've certainly stuck my neck out, haven't I?

-Alex
