A quick glance at the 10Q indicates ACLY is counting on y2k tools revenue instead of consulting. IMO there is wide spread agreement in the community that automated tools won't eliminate the need for line by line reading of code. Even then, bugs will slip by and new ones will be introduced. The tight labor market results on a significant proportion of mediocre people being hired. These incompetent folks are walking time bombs.

IMO the y2k problem is going to be indeed a significant problem but I still don't see a clear and easy way for companies to profit from it. Tools don't work (and people know it) and significant competition does not allow companies to charge the rates that a professional clean up jobs require.

Momentum investors may make a quick buck during tulip mania sprees but most long investors will eventually get screwed as expected earnings do not materialize and these companies start getting sued by angry customers.

FWIW, I covered 1/4 of my short position today at 195/8. I shorted these shares at 231/8.
