Enabling: At the Annual Meeting, Neal Hunter spoke of SiC being an "enabling" technology...meaning applications that were heretofore not possible can now become reality. Last year he gave a humorous "day in the life" of someone using Cree's LED's... he gets up in the morning and shaves with LED lights, then goes down to his car etc. Cree has hundreds of companies and scientists working on SiC applications...and when they are ready to commercialize an application, guess who will be providing the SiC wafers, chips and devices? Yep, it's non other than Cree!
