I have been following this post and it has bene very useful. I decided to register to clear up a couple of things. I have noticed some saying you cannot short SPACs. You can, I have and I am currently short GFN and GFN warrants. I have also boxed my EDA position using warrants since it is taking so long to file the final proxy and I am up huge. I use Fido and sometimes they have to look around for warrants (call the desk rather than place an order on-line. In some cases (Ad.Venture) you cannot get a borrow since the stock and warrants are so heavily shorted. There was an easy arb between Ad.Venture and its publicly-traded target 180 Connect. There are also instances of investors buying the stock, shorting the warrants and voting down the deal. This is what happened with TAQ Acquisition. In fact, a number of hedge funds got together to assure they had the 20% needed to kill the deal. In the case of Ad.Venture holders of Ad.Venture sold blocks of stock above the cash value to insiders so they could get the deal through. New form of greenmail
