Robert, I have been making quite a bit of money lately on ideas suggested by Murphy. He recently had a number of large names on his recommended list, which in your haste to vilify him, you overlook. AMAT and INTC, to name two. As with any source you need to do your own thinking. I agree with Michael that growth flow alone doesn't cut it. Moreover, his timing is at times dreadful. But he does present lots of ideas. Oh, and LSI, which you don't mention, was one of his picks and it was the biggest gainer in the S&P 500 for Q1, if I recall correctly.
Incidentally, LGND, which you single out with contempt, is a fine company and, imo, will one day be a big number. |
