El Salvador accounts for approximately 0.1% of the world population and probably less than that of its economic or other wealth. They're a poster state for the definition of a "shitty little country". As long as they don't manage to have a war going on, the US public will, quite rightfully, ignore what goes on there, and the US government should follow suit.

If we were ignorant of what's going on all over the globe, it would be a better place.
