Ruminating. Very appropriate use of language, as the whole story contains not one new bit of information or analysis, but is simply the New York Times chewing its cud on this story.

I'm still trying to make out how you 'leak' something that was already public knowledge by saying, 'yes, I heard that too' when a journalist tells it to you. But somehow that makes YOU the leaker, not the journalist. Bizarre.
