But, oh so very convenient to the news cycle wizards in the belly of the White House. Just as on June 10, 2002 the White House was able to drown out the FBI "whistleblower" Colleen Rowley and Families of 9/11 Unanswered Questions stories with the pumped-up phony story about Jose Padilla, the White House now has a cause celebre with which to distract the American public away from all the bad news about the Abu Ghraib torture, and the newest revelations to be seen on CBC's 60 Minutes II this evening. CBS must be a bit miffed to be being upstaged by the White House media operation.
