In looking at today's posts, I see several familiar names from other posts. Just wanted to let them know I've got my finger on the trigger to buy some ASND for the first time since I sold at $54. I haven't been on this thread and am not sure if I will dedicate much time to it, but have been thrown in a position where I am almost forced to buy some at these levels and then wait to see how things hash out for the quarter and add at that time.

At about 18x '98 estimates (most recently revised downward), I have to think this stock is a buy at these levels.....Most of the concerns seem to stem from lower than expected European sales (as reported by H&Q's analyst on Sept. 11). H&Q believes this is more of a product transition and integration largely related to the concerns related to the 56k modems. They look for order growth to resume in December '97 and the first quarter of '98 because it appears that several large European accounts have placed substantial orders that have yet to be filled and shipped due to the issues related to the 56k modem.

There also continues to be additional ATM winds at Cascade. However, they don't think we'll see the benefit of these announcements until the December qtr.

H&Q reiterated their BUY.

While I don't always agree with analysts, I have to say I do with H&Q in this case and I'm putting a toe in the water....

good luck,
greg
