Energy Reform

-- Jayson
PoliPundit.com

The U.S. Congress just passed that energy reform package. It will be signed into law in due course.

The roll calls were as follows:

275-156, in the U.S. House.

Democrats in favor: 75 (37%).
Republicans in favor: 200 (87%).

74-26, in the U.S. Senate.

Democrats in favor: 25 (57%).
Republicans in favor: 49 (89%).

Razor thin.

These reform measures promote increased production of various sources of energy, including nuclear power, coal power, and natural gas. Simultaneously, they promote cleaner-burning gasoline, but without imposing mandates on emissions. There also are provisions under which the country’s electrical power grids will be shored up.

No, Chomsky, the Sierra Club no longer dictates the country’s energy policies. Elections have consequences. And it’s not 1975 anymore.
