Patriot Act Update -- Jayson PoliPundit.com The U.S. Senate voted Friday to make permanent most of the provisions of the Patriot Act. The bill now will proceed to a Conference Committee, to reconcile whether certain provisions will be given a four-year sunset (the Senate version) or a 10-year sunset (the House version). I expect some kind of {gulp} compromise, and then the inevitable complaining from the usual suspects. So, cue the imperial theme music, Chomsky. ‘Cause the gummint’s out to get’cha . . .
