Ah..some scammers in that business...right? Lawyers aren't really needed for initial SS Disability claims. They get paid on a percentage of the "back pay" and have a vested interest in their clients not receiving a swift award. That is why the "lawyers" tell applicants they will usually get turned down on the first round and will have to appeal. The attorneys get on the stick as the two year max pay out nears. Then...surprise...great job....the attorney gets 25% or so up to 6 grand and the client gets the rest.

The client is better off simply filing with the honest folks at Social Security and have all there medical records available. Unless the "lawyer" encourages the client to lie the chances of the award are equal, but there is a penalty for lying. The award is often more swift without those scam lawyers interests involved. If the disable individual is not able to file on his own due to competency or similar reasons another person may assist them.

An attorney gets nothing if a client files and receives a swift award. There is a 6 month period after the disability that isn't counted in the back pay....right? A very confusing time. Hard for a person to find a real honest attorney for SSD.

Quite a scam many of those "lawyers" have ..eh? I know you are an honest one...right? Those scammers, they are out there ...right?
