The equipment needs to be modernized. but not an Internet system just yet. Some systems used are over 35 years old based on hundred-year old designs. The local counties, etc bear the cost of the equipment used for these national elections. The federal government should give block grants to all local governing bodies for purchase of new equipment to speed accurate and tamper-proof ballot counts.

Dave, I took my GREs last year and they had a system that wasn't truly computerized but there was a monitor. I knew my results 10 minutes after I completed the tests for.

I would hope we could get something like that into place soon for voting.
