Sylvain Saurel Why is Donald Trump so hated by the left? Interesting question. But I think it's more a question of why Donald Trump is not hated by the right as well. He's a hateful character as far as I can tell. He's the worst president in the history of the United States. The biggest liar in the history of American politics. And yet there have been liars before him! Donald Trump respects nothing and nobody but himself. Everything he does is in his own interest. He doesn't especially love his country. If he did, he would have already conceded defeat to allow American democracy to run its course. He lost the election, he must admit it and move on. He refuses to do so simply by political calculation: he wants to continue to carry weight within the Republicans in order to be able to run for the 2024 presidential election. The people who hate him are much more far-sighted than others, quite simply.
