How do we really know, Peter? Is there some sort of absolute rule whereby the three deaths occur in a specific time period? I was under the impression this was all mythology/superstition, so I didn't realize the concrete nature of the perameters.

Maybe the third person was someone who will be recognized someday as the world's best poet or artist, but was not well known at his/her death. And you are right, perhaps Burgess Meredith was the beginning of a new one. I guess we will soon find out!!!
