I talked with a representative of SRT today: he knows me from comments on stock boards and other forums that I have made about Netro and SRT over the past few years. He explained that SRT/Angel project has good products and experience with ILECs that puts them in a good position for WiMAX. That, arguably, makes them better at providing better integration with existing systems while also being among the 'pure plays' for WiMAX/WBB. I generally agree with that but think this may not matter: it doesn't matter what you have to sell if you have run the business into the ground. And, on the other hand, the larger telecomm integrators such as Lucent, Nortel, Siemens and Alcatel will be new competitors who can more than equal the experience and systems integration capabilities of any of the 'pure plays'. Alvarion, Redline, Airspan, Aperto all are doing some OEM sales through the major systems integrators. So that uniqueness may or may not be what the market wants. I think it would be a plus for SRT if they weren't so close to the rocks.
