Thrifty Foods is a chain of supermarkets located in British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1977 the chain currently operates 26 stores on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland and is the largest supermarket chain on Vancouver Island. Thrifty Foods operates an on-line grocery service on Vancouver Island that also extends into the Metro Vancouver area. Thrifty Foods is a division of Sobeys Inc. which operates independently of the larger company.
In addition to the aforementioned 26 Thrifty Foods stores, the Company is pleased to report that the NATERA™ group of distributors has opened over 100 new retail accounts in their last reporting period.
