Jim, The Republicans did a very good job of isolating several Gore remarks over the last few years, and building a case that he was untrustworthy. "I didn't know it was a fundraiser" "I was on that plane" Character assasination has been honed to a fine art by the RNC, and they had several years headstart assasinating Gore. Bush's own ethics problems never even were discussed by the press, until the last three days of the election. Scumbria
