Well, it's interesting. Perhaps when you get beyond a small group, it's difficult to keep things in perspective. I've heard the Catholic Church likened to a very large, very powerful corporation where the CEO is also an absolute monarch. The cardinals are the princes and the administrators in charge of major divisions.

I have heard criticism of even M. Theresa. They say she would only minister to you if you were dying and that she was more interested in expanding her church than actually changing the lives of the masses.
