I can't imagine a competitor making a better one. Really, at this point they should just give up

I got mine as a surprise gift from my kids and wife on Friday and I spent about 10 hours that day trying to learn my way around the Ipad (never use any Apple product before) and the apps store. I managed to download about 20+ apps (most are free but some paid apps also) and move my pictures, music and Chrome bookmarks from my PC to the ipad. It seems all the reviewers talk about the hardware spec (which Apple has an impressive lead at this point) but really fail to address the apps store issue. There are so many free apps that one can get and customize the Ipad for individual taste. Those free apps are part of the benefit of buying an Ipad. So long as Apple has enough hardware to not fail behind, the free apps become the "killer apps" that will keep the buyer coming to IOS device instead of the competitor. How many free apps are available to download when Window 8 tablet launch? Window 8 tablet is supposed for business user, CNBC and Bloomberg will tell us when Window 8 tablet is in the big leafue if and when they put their apps on Window 8 tablet. . The key for Apple is to convince the existing owner to trade up every 2 years instead of every 6 years (like my PC). So far tablet is such a small part of the mobile and computer market, Apple don't have to worry about it now. They can grow by just getting the new users. But in a few years, it may be the major concern.

I watched an episode of Mentalist on the Ipad and it looked better than on my TV (an LG65LW6500). And it is a major surprise for me. I watch my TV about 10 ft away from it, the distant should nullify the retina display higher density advantage (since I watch my Ipad about 1 1/2 ft or from me) but the image on Ipad is move vibrant and crisp. The display quality is an edge that even my mother in law (who is 89 years old now and a non-computer user) commented when she saw her picture on the Ipad 3 for the first time this weekend. I think the display will sell the Ipad well for the next 6-9 months.

With all the talk "about Ipad not selling well because no line around the country waiting", I think it may force Apple to announce the first day and first weekend sales to maintain the momentum of the launch to the next 23 countries and I am looking forward to hear from them. My over and under is about 3 million unit from all 10 countries. I would be disappointed as an investor that they didn't sell more than 3 million unit in the launch weekend. Apple has been building the new Ipad since 1/1 and they has the capacity to build 4-5 million unit a month, so they should have have at least 7-8 millions units on hand to satisfy the demand...
