History shows that almost all societies have not tried to "understand" homosexuality. This instinctive reaction is at almost a genetic level. We need to be careful when we fool with mother nature.

I believe you are quite incorrect here. Many cultures both ancient and modern have been very tolerant of homosexuality. Judo-Christian is one standout that is not. I do not think Judo-Christian behavior is "almost a genetic level".

Further, homosexuality is well documented in many species, so if in fact we should be careful about fooling with mother nature, than IF a cure is found, we should avoid using it. There actually is some rational to that logic, and I would be somewhat against eradicating homosexuality from humans until we really understand the issue, not simply know how to accomplish a cure.

I do agree tolerance of hooligans is an equally poor strategy. Many on the liberal side make that failing, as many on the conservative side fail to investigate further than a label.
